This role involves project management, technical guidance, and strategic oversight of construction services.\nAll of this takes place within the framework of achieving the company's goals and vision.\n\nEssential Functions\nReasonable accommodations or workable solutions may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.\nLead and manage technical operations in the construction materials laboratory, ensuring compliance with ASTM, ACI, and other applicable standards.\nOversee complex construction projects, providing technical expertise and ensuring quality control from inception to completion.\nDevelop and implement management strategies for construction services, focusing on efficiency and technical excellence.\nTrain and mentor technical staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.\nComplete field work on large or complex projects.\nPerform tests and write reports for project work assigned.\nMaintain equipment calibration list and perform quality assurance standard operating procedures.\nProvide input on project proposals including quantity and scheduling.\nPerform surveillances for quality assurance purposes.\nLead the development of new tests.\nDevelop proficiency with various instrumentation methods.\nProvide technical expertise to clients and industry studies.\nSupport QA/QC needs of the laboratory (e.g., equipment calibrations, maintenance schedule, etc.)\nDirect operations in the concrete laboratory\nResponsible for maintaining organization and cleanliness of laboratory.\nMaintain AET’s productivity standards.\nMust provide quality of service and work product that meets or exceeds AET’s expectations.\nMust maintain ACI and other relatable certifications.\n\nSupervisory Responsibility\nProvides work direction to technicians as coordinated with senior staff.\n\nQualifications and Education Requirements\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nA minimum of five years of experience in assessment and testing of construction materials.\nMaintain valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.\n\nPreferred Skills\nCommunication skills sufficient to convey complex technical information in a clear manner to diverse audiences.\nDetailed knowledge of principles and practices in more than one specialty area (cross trained); or\nDemonstrated expert level knowledge of principles and practices within a specialty area.\nDemonstrated proficiency in developing timely, accurate, and detailed project documentation.\n\nWork Environment\nThis job primarily operates in a professional laboratory environment. This position also may require occasional field work in outdoor conditions on construction sites with uneven ground and adverse weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.\n\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands or finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds. The employee will occasionally push or pull equipment weighing up to 200 pounds. The employee is required to frequently work outside.
