Position Description**Secret Clearance Required to Start.**Position is hybrid: 2 days a week onsiteWe are seeking an Experienced Space Survivability/Radiation Effects Engineer to support natural and man-made radiation environment-related tasks through all satellite program phases. The successful candidate will interface with all technical disciplines in a team environment to trade factors such as survivability, cost, weight, and technical risk in arriving at the final design.Primary Responsibilities• Provide subject matter expertise in the technical area of nuclear radiation hardness on a large portfolio of space programs.• Interface with program office representatives and system engineers representing other disciplines to ensure that radiation-related concerns are adequately addressed.• Ensure that unit and system level designs appropriately consider radiation-related effects such as total dose, displacement damage, ELDRS, single event effects, internal charging, IEMP, SGEMP, and TREE.• Perform and document unit and vehicle level analyses.• Plan and conduct testing at the piecepart, unit, and vehicle levels to support design and verify compliance with radiation-related requirements.• Interface with personnel at various radiation test facilities across the country to advocate for required test time.RequirementsRequired Skills• Ten years of experience in space environments/radiation effects.• Experience in dose rate testing, total ionizing dose testing, displacement damage testing, and SEE testing of electronics• Experience in prompt dose analysis of electronic units• Experience working on government contracts with nuclear effects environment requirementsPreferred Skills:• Experience with various pieces of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers
