The ideal candidate will lead exciting industrial steel & concrete structural projects and be recognized as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME).\n\nResponsibilities\n\nLead and provide technical guidance throughout the structural design and engineering process, often serving as the senior reviewer of calculations and structural models.\n\nCoordinate, review and approve building design plans, ensure work is compliant with all applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.\n\nProvide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for junior engineering personnel.\n\nPrepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, sketches, calculations, cross-sections, and 2D/3D illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of more complex data, findings, or analyses.\n\nPrepare comprehensive structural technical reports and presentations that explain research, concepts, and recommendations.\n\nAnalyze, evaluate, and interpret data obtained during site investigations, offering input with developing action plans for moderate- to high-level risk mitigation activities.\n\nInteract with architects, consultants, and clients in a confident and professional manner.\n\nResponsible for the design and safety of temporary structures used during construction.\n\nConsider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors in planning stages and risk analysis.\n\nPerform material take offs for steel and concrete on industrial projects.\n\nWrite technical specifications and scopes of work for steel, concrete, and geotechnical materials.\n\nIndependently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.\n\nTravel to job sites and participate in walkdowns and provide construction or commissioning support.\n\nCoordinate with other disciplines, departments, and companies to ensure seamless technical compatibility and completion of engineering tasks safely, on-time, within budget and meeting all quality requirements.\n\nRequirements\n\nBachelors Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a four-year college or university with focus in Structural Design Courses.\n\n12+ years of Structural Engineering experience in the Power and Industrial industry.\n\nProfessional registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.). (required)\n\nProfessional registration as a Structural Engineer (S.E.) (preferred)\n\nKnowledge of AutoCAD, STAADPro, RISA, Enercalc or similar analysis software.\n\nFamiliarity with 3D design and viewing software such as Navisworks\n\nExperience with large industrial projects, and understanding of project environments, requirements, and risks.\n\nKnowledge and understanding of engineering, construction, and project management.\n\nStrong communication and presentation skills.\n\nStrong Microsoft Office software skills.\n\nMust have authorization to work in the United States for any employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.\n\nSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
