This role focuses on scalable backend engineering, DevOps best practices, and thoughtful system design to support performance and growth in modern distributed environments.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDesign and implement scalable, well-documented software with strong performance and reliability characteristics\nBuild and enhance cloud infrastructure components and supporting services\nCollaborate with engineers, data scientists, and cross-functional partners to drive engineering proposals and best practices\nDefine low-level implementation details, including data structures, code organization, and maintainable patterns\nRecommend technical approaches that address scaling, performance, and architectural evolution\nConduct thorough code reviews and ensure high engineering standards\nProvide technical mentorship and guidance to team members\n\nRequired Skills\n\n5+ years of software development experience, including distributed systems and data-focused problem solving\nExpert-level programming ability with strong attention to time/space complexity and maintainable design\nStrong Python development experience\nDevOps practices including CI/CD, containerization (Docker), testing, and automation\nHands-on experience implementing solutions on AWS (e.g., IAM, S3, Kinesis, Lambda, SNS)\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code tooling (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)\n\nEducation\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent related experience\n\nPreferred Skills\n\nProficiency in at least one strongly typed language (e.g., TypeScript, Java)\nKnowledge of trade-offs across data storage systems and architectures (e.g., SQL vs. NoSQL, partitioning, data warehouses)\nDemonstrated ability to generalize and reuse existing services and implementations\nStrong ability to stay current on modern software engineering and data management practices\n\nWhy Should I Apply?\nThis is an opportunity to work on complex, performance-sensitive systems while influencing engineering practices and scalable cloud architecture.
