This is a 100% technical individual contributor role with zero people management. You will focus entirely on designing, implementing, and deploying low-level C/C++ code that interfaces directly with physical silicon and microcontrollers on custom circuit boards.\nIf you thrive on bare-metal architecture, device-to-cloud telemetry, and debugging physical hardware, this role offers complete technical ownership in a stable, fully remote environment.\nWhat You Will Do\nFirmware Development: Write highly efficient, real-time code in C/C++ for resource-constrained, microcontroller-based IoT hardware nodes.\nDriver Architecture: Design and maintain low-level device drivers for onboard sensors, actuators, and various wired/wireless communication modules.\nSystem Integration: Develop secure telemetry pipelines and robust Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware update streams to push cloud-managed upgrades using protocols like MQTT and HTTP/HTTPS.\nHardware Debugging: Troubleshoot physical board-level issues and analyze system architecture using JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.\nAbsolute Requirements (Must-Haves)\nTo be successful, candidates must have a foundational understanding of physical hardware and electronic systems. Profiles focused purely on application-level or desktop software development cannot be considered.\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.\nCore Experience: 5+ years of embedded firmware development paired with 3+ years of hands-on IoT systems engineering.\nLanguages: High proficiency in C/C++ for embedded targets, and Python for custom internal scripting and tooling.\nMicrocontrollers: Production experience working directly with ARM Cortex-M, STM32, Microchip, or similar hardware platforms.\nHardware Protocols: Hands-on experience with physical serial communication layers: SPI, I2C, UART, RS-485, USB, and Ethernet.\nOperating Systems: Direct development experience utilizing an RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar) AND building embedded Linux systems via Buildroot.\nDiagnostic Tools: Deep comfort using physical laboratory equipment to isolate firmware defects (JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers).\nPreferred Skills\nExposure to industrial automation, building automation networks, or energy management systems.\nFamiliarity with wireless communications (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, LoRa/LoRaWAN, or cellular integration).\nNetworking protocols like Modbus, CoAP, and TCP/IP stacks.\nExperience with embedded GUI development utilizing tools like LVGL or TouchGFX.\nWe are setting up interviews now!
