The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems that meet business needs and technical requirements. The Systems Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all components of the system integrate seamlessly and function optimally.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDesign, implement, and maintain complex systems and infrastructure, ensuring they meet project specifications and organizational goals.\n\nCollaborate with software, hardware, and network teams to ensure smooth integration and functionality of systems.\n\nAnalyze system performance and troubleshoot any issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.\n\nDevelop and maintain system documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and policies.\n\nParticipate in system testing and validation processes to ensure systems are reliable and meet user needs.\n\nPerform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain system security and performance.\n\nManage system configurations, backups, and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.\n\nEvaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve system performance and efficiency.\n\nProvide technical support and training to internal teams and users when needed.\n\nEnsure compliance with relevant industry standards and best practices.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n\nProven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of system architecture and design.\n\nExperience with operating systems (Linux, Windows, etc.) and server management.\n\nKnowledge of networking, databases, cloud technologies, and virtualization.\n\nProficiency with systems engineering tools and software (e.g., configuration management tools, monitoring software).\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.\n\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.\n\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.\n\nAbility to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Docker, etc.).\n\nCertification in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g., ITIL, Cisco, Microsoft).\n\nFamiliarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.\n\nExperience in [specific industry or technology, e.g., aerospace, telecommunications, etc.].\n\nWork Location\nNewport, RI\n\nMIKEL offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), 401k Retirement Plan, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), and Tuition Reimbursement.\n\nDepartment of Defense Secret Security Clearance or higher is required at time of hire.
