This role requires a detail-oriented professional who excels in a collaborative setting, with the ability to propose and implement effective solutions to technical challenges.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain high-quality Java applications using Core Java, J2EE, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Struts, JSF, and other technologies.Design, implement, and support web services (SOAP and REST) and APIs.Provide primary support for the CiSTAR and BRICS platform and other developed and supported applications for the intramural Clinical Trials Develop and maintain applications using tools and frameworks such as J2EE, Design Patterns, Eclipse, TOAD, SQL, JDBC, MVC, and Bootstrap.Provide technical support for software applications in clinical trials and research settings, addressing problems of moderate to high complexity.Propose, identify, and develop effective solutions to technical issues.Ensure compliance with federal security, privacy, and Section 508 requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and refine user interfaces and improve site navigation.Perform reverse engineering and refactoring of existing code to enhance performance and maintainability.Generate reports and conduct testing using technologies like Jasper Reports, Junit, and Soap UI.Manage time effectively and maintain a high level of attention to detail in all tasks.Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to present technical information clearly to stakeholders.QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field is required.Master’s degree is preferred.Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience supporting research and clinical trials in a clinical research environment, such as the NIH.Experience in addressing and resolving software application problems of moderate to high complexity.Expert-level proficiency in developing applications using: Core Java, J2EE, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Struts, JSF, IBM Portlets, Hibernate, Web Services (SOAP and REST), JDBC, XML, HTML/XHTML/HTML5, Angular2, Node JS, JSON, JavaScript, Ajax, JQuery, Blaze Advisor for RulesExcellent written and oral presentation skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.High tolerance for ambiguity with a desire to organize it.Solid understanding of the full system development life cycle.Familiarity with federal security, privacy, and Section 508 compliance requirements.Strong site navigation and user interface design skills.Compensation And BenefitsThe projected compensation range for this position is $115.000 to $135,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
