This role is a replacement due to a recent termination. The DFM Engineer will collaborate closely with customers across various industries - including aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial, and medical devices - to evaluate manufacturability, optimize designs, and ensure successful project delivery.\n\nYou will work directly with Xometry's manufacturing partners, internal teams, and customers to solve engineering challenges and support production execution.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nEvaluate customer designs for manufacturability and recommend improvements using Xometry's technologies and capabilities.\n\nDevelop and implement sourcing strategies that ensure quality and cost efficiency.\n\nSupport production troubleshooting to ensure smooth order execution and customer satisfaction.\n\nInterface with machine shops, fabrication partners, internal teams, and clients to drive project success.\n\nParticipate in initiatives to expand and strengthen Xometry's manufacturing partner network and technical capabilities.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.\n\n2-4 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.\n\n1-2 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience focusing on CNC machining and/or sheet metal fabrication.\n\nStrong understanding of process cycle times, material and geometry limitations, and cost optimization.\n\nExperience collaborating with suppliers, OEMs, and customers.\n\nProficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).\n\nSolid knowledge of GD&T and inspection/QA practices.\n\nProven ability to identify DFM issues from CAD models and technical drawings.\n\nExperience with CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing is highly desirable.\n\nAdditional Technical Expertise (Preferred)\n\nKnowledge of 3/4/5-axis milling and turning with live tooling.\n\nFamiliarity with post-processing and plating finishes for machined parts.\n\nExperience with specialty processes such as EDM, grinding, honing, and lapping.\n\nUnderstanding of material selection and forming technologies (press brake, laser/waterjet cutting, welding, stamping).\n\nPersonal Attributes\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, informed decisions.\n\nExcellent communication and collaboration abilities.\n\nAdaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.\n\nCustomer-focused mindset with attention to detail.\n\nOther Details\n\nOvertime: May be required, depending on project demands.\n\nHome Office: Corporate Laptop\n\nTeam spirit and friendly atmosphere: we work in an open, friendly and trusting environment that welcomes initiative.
