Psychiatric Nurse PractitionerNorth Shore - PITTSBURGH, PA 15212OverviewSalary Range $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 Salary/year Job Shift Day Travel Percentage NoneDescriptionThe role of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is to assess, diagnose and treat the mental health needs of patients.General Duties and Responsibilities:Collaborates with staff Psychiatrist and/or Medical Director regarding patient care.Work collaboratively in a team-based environment with other mental health clinicians, staff, and primary care providersAssess patients by conducting evaluationsAnalyze data and results of screening tools to assist in diagnosing patients and evaluating treatment responseDiagnose mental health disorders, provide recommendations for treatment, and prescribe medications when indicatedProvide follow-up for monitoring symptoms and treatment responseMonitor for medication side effectsCollaborate with patients in developing treatment plans that address their mental health concerns and psychosocial needsCollaborate with patients in creating safety plansRoutinely assess patient safety and refer to higher level of care when indicatedProvide crisis intervention as neededCollaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and case managers in the practice to monitor symptoms and address whole-patients' needsCollaborate with outside physicians, therapists, service coordinators, and/or other clinical professionals to address treatment goals, clinical progress, and other patient needsGather and maintain patient information and records in the EMR, including medical history, medication history, and psychosocial history obtained from patientsGather information from primary supports and/or other professionals when clinically indicated or requested by patientsProvide information to family/primary supports when requested by patients and make sure an ROI has been signedComplete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely mannerParticipate in weekly Collaborative Care team meetingsCollaborate with PCPs and Collaborative Care Manager to assist in management of mental health disorders treated in the primary care clinicImprove staff competence by providing training and education regarding the interrelationship between psychiatric disorders, physical illness, psychosocial concerns, and medicationsKeep up to date on clinical care by participating in continuing medical educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizationsQualificationsActive and unrestricted full licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of PennsylvaniaSuccessful passing of Child Abuse and FBI Clearances.Experience working in, or providing administrative support for, an IOP or PHP programKnowledge and experience working with Medicaid (CCBH) in Allegheny County, PACollaborative leadership styleLGBTQIA cultural competencyNeed to be culturally competent while working, including being gender sensitive and pronoun awareCompletely understand the healthcare privacy laws as outlined in HIPAAPunctuality and impeccable attendanceAbility to work in a fast paced and, at times, excited atmosphereAbility to multi-task
