The base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.As a candidate, you are encouraged to ask compensation related questions and have an open dialogue with your recruiter who can provide you more specific details for this role.Job DescriptionTechnical Data & Database DevelopmentBuild, maintain, and audit buy-side and sell-side technical databases to support reservoir engineering analysis and valuationIntegrate production, well, reserve, and asset-level data from multiple sources into structured, analysis-ready formatsEnsure data integrity, consistency, and traceability across transaction workflowsCoordinate database updates across engineering and banking teams during live transactionsReservoir Engineering & Valuation SupportSupport reserves evaluation, decline curve analysis, and asset performance analysis under the direction of engineering teamWork with team members to assess and quantify development inventory for relevant project areasAssist with technical inputs to NAV models, valuation frameworks, and investment memorandaPrepare supporting analyses and exhibits for internal reviews, management presentations, and client materialsTranslate raw technical data into clear, defensible outputs suitable for investment decision-makingSoftware & ToolsPrimary platforms include Aries, Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Spotfire, and Enverus. Experience or familiarity with CapIQ, SQL, VBA, Python, ArcGIS, and Petra a plus.Develop repeatable workflows, templates, and tools to improve efficiency and consistency across transactionsAssist with data extraction, normalization, and visualization to support technical conclusionsCollaboration & ExecutionWork closely with reservoir engineers, A&D professionals, and investment bankersOperate effectively under tight deadlines with changing prioritiesTake ownership of assigned workstreams while maintaining alignment with senior team directionIdentify missing data, inconsistencies, or analytical risks and proactively escalate themRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a STEM field with strong academic track record (engineering, geoscience, mathematics, physics, or similar)Minimum of 1–2 years of total professional experience in technical role in the upstream oil and gas sectorPrior investment banking experience preferred but not requiredDemonstrated experience supporting reserves, A&D, or upstream valuation work a significant plusStrong database management skills with the ability to handle large, multi-source datasetsProficiency in Excel and PowerPoint with attention to accuracy, structure, and presentation qualityFamiliarity with Aries, Spotfire and Enverus; experience with Access & SQL strongly preferredAbility to apply rigorous logic and critical thinking to ambiguous technical problemsAttributes for SuccessDetail-oriented without losing sight of transaction-level objectivesComfortable taking direction but capable of identifying work that needs to be done without being askedHigh personal accountability; owns outcomes, not just tasksAble to operate calmly and accurately under deal pressureProfessional communication style appropriate for a client-facing banking environmentCollaborative team player with a high degree of intellectual curiosityAwareness of demands associated with a career at an investment bankWillingness to work long office hours in fast paced environment This is an in-office role based in Houston, TX – remote candidates will not be considered.Who We AreTD Securities offers a wide range of capital markets products and services to corporate, government, and institutional clients who choose us for our innovation, execution, and experience.
