This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager in the Purchasing department. This role is responsible for accepting, inspecting, stocking, and inventorying materials, hardware, and customer supplied components. Working safely is an essential function of this position, and safe work practices are clearly defined within company and department specific safety procedures.\n\nThe ideal candidate brings a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a warehouse setting, knowledge of various grades of sheet metal and tool steels (ASTM, SAE, AISI & JIS specifications), and experience operating material handling equipment. Close attention to detail, the ability to use inventory software, and strong organizational skills are critical factors in this role. The position includes Materials Coordinator Level 1 and Level 2 functions, with Level 2 responsibilities building on demonstrated competency in Level 1 functions.\n\nResponsibilities:\nOperate material handling equipment – Obtain license to operate forklift and overhead crane to unload material.\nPerform receiving inspection – Perform basic receiving inspection of incoming materials.\nOrganize and stage material – Organize and properly stage material for use.\nVerify material dimensions – Use inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, and tape measures, to verify sheet size and thickness matches what is ordered.\nSafely handle material – Safely handle material in accordance with company and department specific safety procedures.\nDistribute job folders – Distribute job folders to support production.\nProcess receivers in E2 – Process receivers in the E2 shop system.\nSeek continuous improvements – Seek continuous improvement opportunities within the department.\nFile material certifications – File material certs and maintain material traceability (Level 2).\nMaintain inventory levels – Maintain proper inventory levels for stock material and placement of re-order tags (Level 2).\nCycle count inventory – Cycle count sheet and tube inventory and adjust E2 accordingly (Level 2).\nHandle non-conforming material – Ensure proper handling of non-conforming material (Level 2).\nProcess inventory adjustments – Process inventory adjustments in E2 (Level 2).\n\nRequirements:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nMinimum of 2 years working in a warehouse setting\nKnowledge of various grades of sheet metal and tool steels (ASTM, SAE, AISI & JIS specifications)\nExperience operating material handling equipment\nBasic understanding of types of material; firm knowledge of material grades for Level 2\nAbility to read blueprints and understand specifications (Level 2)\nBasic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, and Word); advanced computer skills for Level 2\nAbility to prioritize work\nAbility to work effectively on cross-functional teams\nExcellent communication skills\nClose attention to detail\nAbility to use inventory software\nStrong organizational skills\nAbility to work overtime and maintain flexibility in work schedule\nAbility to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds\nThis position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day\nSpecific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus\nComfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, vibration, and loud noise\nNo travel is expected for this position\nMust be eligible to work in the United States, either by means of U.S. Citizenship, Work Visa, or H1B sponsorship\n\nPosition Type and Expected Hours:\n\nThis is a full-time, non-exempt position with a minimum of 40 hours per week with overtime as needed.
