Come grow with us!Location: Galena, KSSchedule: On-site | Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM – 3:30 PMPosition SummaryThe EHS Specialist plays a key role in supporting day-to-day environmental, health, and safety activities at the site, with a focus on incident management, employee training, and maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.This is a hands-on role that partners closely with site leadership, employees, HR, and the broader EHS team to drive safety awareness, support compliance efforts, and ensure follow-through on key initiatives.This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and looking to gain experience in EHS within a structured and supportive environment.Employee Ownership (ESOP): Company-funded retirement contribution of approximately 18% of pay, plus 401(k)Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus opportunityComprehensive benefits package: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, FSA, and Pet InsuranceGenerous paid time off, paid holidays, and parental leaveFitness and tuition reimbursement programsRelocation assistance availableIncident Management & Follow-ThroughSupport the incident reporting process, including documentation, investigation participation, and corrective action trackingPartner with site leaders and HR to identify root causes and support practical corrective actionsMonitor corrective actions to completion and elevate risks or delays as neededApply sound judgment when assessing risk and determining when to raise the issueTraining & Employee EngagementDeliver monthly EHS training sessions aligned to site and regulatory requirementsIdentify training gaps and support development of site-specific contentTrack and report training completion and effectivenessProvide coaching and support to employees in a positive, approachable mannerCompliance & Site SupportSupport regulatory compliance activities, including inspections, documentation, and follow-upAssist with audits, corrective actions, and site-level EHS initiativesSupport small EHS projects in collaboration with the EHS teamParticipate in regular safety meetings with site leadershipPartnership & CommunicationBuild strong working relationships with site leaders, HR, and employeesPrepare for and participate in safety and EHS team meetingsCommunicate clearly, proactively, and professionally across stakeholdersRequired Qualifications2–5 years of experience in EHS, safety, or a related role within manufacturing, industrial, or similar environmentsWorking knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and/or DOT requirementsExperience supporting safety programs, incident tracking, training, or compliance activitiesStrong organizational skills and follow-throughAbility to work independently while knowing when to rise to escalationEffective communication and collaboration skillsHigh School DiplomaPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related fieldProfessional certification (ASP, CSP, CHMM, CIH, or similar)Experience in a multi-site or team-based EHS environmentIf you're motivated by creating safe workplaces through compliant EHS practices, positive employee engagement, and consistent follow-up, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today to join an employee-owned organization that values accountability, partnership, and continuous improvement.Equal Opportunity EmployerPBI-Gordon Companies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
