This role is located in Pittsburgh.\nIn this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:\nDesign, develop, and maintain database solutions for security reference data, corporate action entitlement and processing, and related fund accounting needs\nDevelop, debug, and performance-tune complex Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, packages, and functions for high-volume, mission-critical workloads.\nModel and maintain Eagle database tables; ensure alignment with the Eagle data model and downstream consumption patterns.\nBuild robust, scalable data ingestion pipelines and transformation logic across Eagle RDC and Eagle Automation Center; implement monitoring, alerting, and recovery processes.\nPartner with business and operations teams to interpret security master and corporate action requirements; translate them into technical design and data workflows.\nExperience with data quality frameworks, lineage tracking, and control implementation in financial data environments.\nCorporate action entitlement and processing experience (e.g., dividends, splits, mergers, optional events) and their impact on positions, NAV, and reporting.\nExposure to pricing vendors and market data feeds, and how they integrate into Eagle reference data.\nKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines for database code (e.g., automated testing, code promotion, schema management).\nExperience with performance diagnostics (AWR/ASH, execution plans) and tuning in Oracle.\nFamiliarity with enterprise data governance practices and audit/compliance considerations for financial services.\nExperience mentoring and leading small technical teams or initiatives.\nTo be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:\nBachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.\n10+ years of hands-on experience developing in SQL, with strong command of query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and data modeling.\n5+ years of experience working with the Eagle application, including RDC, Uploader, and Message Center.\nStrong understanding of Eagle database tables and the Eagle data model; ability to map business requirements to Eagle structures.\nGeneral understanding of fund accounting with emphasis on security reference data (e.g., security master attributes, pricing, classifications, identifiers).\nOracle PL/SQL expertise, including writing/debugging/performance tuning large, complex stored procedures and packages in high-throughput environments.\nHands-on experience with Agile delivery methods; proficiency with Jira, git, and Confluence.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nConduct root-cause analysis and remediation for production incidents; improve resiliency through performance tuning, indexing strategies, and partitioning.\nEstablish and maintain development standards, code reviews, and documentation across Confluence and version control (git).\nWork within Agile teams using Jira for backlog management, sprint planning, and delivery tracking; contribute to continuous improvement of processes and tooling.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory, audit, and operational requirements are incorporated into solution design.\n\nAt BNY, our culture speaks for itself, check out the latest BNY news at: BNY Newsroom BNY LinkedIn\nHere’s a few of our recent awards:\nAmerica’s Most Innovative Companies, Fortune, 2025\nWorld’s Most Admired Companies, Fortune 2025\n“Most Just Companies”, Just Capital and CNBC, 2025\nOur Benefits and Rewards:\nBNY offers highly competitive compensation, benefits, and wellbeing programs rooted in a strong culture of excellence and our pay-for-performance philosophy.
