Learn more about the benefits of joining Team UES and our core values at careers.teamues.com.\n\nPosition Overview:\n\nAs a Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and directing engineering testing projects such as predevelopment, geotechnical design, and when necessary, civil design support.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nAssist with geotechnical site investigations, including soil and rock sampling, borehole logging, field testing, and data collection to support project design and analysis.\n\nSupport the evaluation of subsurface conditions by analyzing field and laboratory data under the supervision of senior engineers.\n\nContribute to the preparation of technical reports and documentation by summarizing findings, preparing figures, and assisting in drafting recommendations.\n\nWork collaboratively with project engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support design development and engineering assessments.\n\nAssist with reviewing plans, specifications, and background data to help inform geotechnical evaluations.\n\nParticipate in field and laboratory testing programs to ensure data quality and integrity.\n\nSupport communication with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate coordination of field work and material procurement.\n\nHelp ensure project work is performed in accordance with applicable health, safety, and environmental standards.\n\nLearn to use geotechnical engineering software and tools for analysis and reporting.\n\nSupport cost estimating and proposal development efforts by compiling data and assisting with documentation.\n\nMaintain organized project records, logs, and data files in accordance with company standards.\n\nParticipate in quality assurance/quality control processes to support consistent and accurate deliverables.\n\nOther duties to be assigned\nJob Responsibilities Note:\n\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. (Professional Engineer)\nBachelor’s degree (B.S.) in civil, geotechnical, or environmental engineering from a four-year college or university; one to two years of related experience and/or training\nStrong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and working with project teams.\nBasic understanding of construction methods, site safety, and environmental regulations is helpful.\nStrong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.\nWillingness to work in both field and office environments and travel to project sites as needed.\nAbility to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate a proactive, collaborative mindset.\n\nTravel Requirements:\n\n This position requires extensive travel, approximately up to 70% of the time, in support of business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments.
