This is a post-sales Forward Deployed Engineer role: implementing and building atop the platform rather than doing heavy custom engineering or core product work. One day you're shadowing a finance team to map how they close the books, the next you're wiring up computer-use agents against their actual systems, the next you're showing their CAO that what used to take a week now takes an hour. Patterns you find in the field feed a product-deployment loop that directly shapes what gets built into the platform. The most important trait by far is commercial ability: interfacing with customers, understanding their needs, and figuring out how the Client can solve them. Backgrounds in consulting, solutions engineering, or other external-facing roles tend to do well. Strong technical ability is a bonus and a baseline expectation (you need to understand what's happening under the hood to implement well), but you don't need to be a world-class engineer. This role is entirely post-sales, including work during paid PSCs (proofs of concept), which count as post-sales since the customer has already signed. There's real room to grow into leading all of post-sales over time.DetailsLocation: San Francisco, CAWork Type: In-person, mostly 5 days a weekEmployment: Full-TimeExperience: 0-4 yearsVisa Sponsorship: None availableTeam size: 1-10 employeesFounded: 2025About The CompanyThe Client builds AI systems that do a company's hardest work and verify it, so people can finally come out of the loop. The work taken on is the foundational, multi-day, hundred-step processes businesses run on today with entire teams: reconciliation across physical and digital systems, invoice and PO matching, and month-end close. The belief is that the economy can't compound on AI until systems can run these processes on their own over long horizons, rather than being steered through every step — every agent product so far hands the last stretch back to a human, and that supervision is the tax that eats the gains. The Client currently works with finance and accounting teams at operationally complex enterprises, where the cost of being almost right is the same as being wrong. The team is tight-knit, highly technical, jolly, and unusually close to the work: everyone talks to customers and ships full systems end-to-end, with shared interests in computer use, verifying AI outputs, self-improving systems, and coherence over long horizons. What You'll OwnEmbedding with customer teams to learn how their operations actually run: shadowing experts, mapping decision logic, capturing tribal knowledgeBuilding and deploying agents tailored to each customer's systems, edge cases, and operational reality (working on and atop the platform)Owning the feedback loop: field patterns directly shape what gets built into the platformPresenting the Client's product to customers and prospects with sharp narration and real design taste, sequencing demos around their specific workflowsImplementation and delivery throughout the post-sales lifecycle, including paid PSCsMust-HaveExcellent communication: presents themselves well, translates between technical and non-technical stakeholders, groks things quickly and reads between the linesStrong commercial/customer-facing ability (the #1 trait for this role)A baseline of genuine technical ability, enough to understand how things are engineered under the hood and optimize implementation (need not be a world-class engineer)Comfort with ambiguity and finding creative solutions fastThinks in terms of business outcomes0 to 4 years of experienceAble to work in person in SF, mostly 5 days a weekNice-to-HaveSolutions engineering, growth engineering, consulting, or technical-founder backgroundGeneralist engineering range: backend (Node, Postgres), frontend (React/TypeScript), ML-adjacent (finetuning / agent configuration)Client-facing technical operations experience (e.g., CS degree then a client-facing ops-heavy role, even without a pure engineering title)Real design/presentation taste: demo pacing, visual clarity, narrative arcExperience at a strong, recognizable companyBenefits & PerksCompetitive pay plus equity (aims to beat other offers)Relocation support to San FranciscoAll meals covered (coffee, lunch, dinner, snacks)M-series Pro/Max MacBook Pro, multiple monitors, and whatever else you needUnlimited PTO and full health coverage401(k)Regular team offsitesFlexible, outcome-based schedule (no forced long hours when the work is done)Interview ProcessPending ApprovalIntro CallBehavioral call with a co-founderTake-home assessmentOn-siteOffer ExtendedHired","company":"Pulserise Technologies","rawCompany":"pulserise technologies","city":"Millbrae","state":"CA","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-08-11T10:59:46.593Z","occupations":[{"code":"15-1252.00","title":"Software Developers","slug":"software-developers"},{"code":"41-9031.00","title":"Sales Engineers","slug":"sales-engineers"},{"code":"15-1299.08","title":"Computer Systems Engineers/Architects","slug":"computer-systems-engineers-architects"}],"industries":[{"code":"541511","title":"Custom Computer Programming Services","slug":"custom-computer-programming-services"},{"code":"541512","title":"Computer Systems Design Services","slug":"computer-systems-design-services"},{"code":"513210","title":"Software Publishers","slug":"software-publishers"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Forward Deployed Engineer_CNTR","description":"You'll own how the Client lands.
