You’ll play a key part in bridging the gap between legacy systems and the future of defense electronics manufacturing.\nIf you enjoy deep technical work, troubleshooting, reverse engineering, and working with legacy systems, this is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO\nLead engineering efforts supporting legacy defense electronics programs\nCapture and document legacy processes and test methods from experienced technicians\nTroubleshoot complex analog, digital, RF, and mixed-signal assemblies down to the component level\nDevelop test fixtures, Test procedures, and conformance methods—even when documentation is limited\nDesign and fabricate simple mechanical fixtures or tooling as needed\nApply mechanical aptitude to support custom manufacturing solutions\nInterpret and work from government technical data packages (TDPs), schematics, and legacy drawings\nPartner with quality, purchasing, and production teams on root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvements\nSupport sales by providing manufacturability input during quoting and proposal activities\nHelp preserve and document critical knowledge from experienced engineers and technicians\nYou will collaborate with employees across engineering, testing, manufacturing, and sustainment to help keep our legacy platforms operating at peak performance.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nDegree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and/or 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing and troubleshooting\nStrong working knowledge of analog, digital, embedded, RF, or telecom electronics\nAbility to troubleshoot circuit card assemblies down to the component level\nUnderstanding of passive and active electrical components and their properties\nAbility to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical data packages (TDPs)\nExperience using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, cable testers (e.g., Cirris), and other bench-level equipment\nAbility to work through and reverse engineer (analyze) hardware with limited or no documentation\nStrong documentation, organizational, and communication skills\nInterest in learning from experienced engineers and technicians and helping document key processes and knowledge\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE)\nEXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING IS A STRONG ADVANTAGE:\nFamiliarity with IPC standards and MIL specifications (e.g., MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-202, MIL-PRF)\nExperience with National Instruments LabVIEW (highly desirable)\nProgramming experience in C, C++, and/or Embedded C\nExperience with PCB layout or CAD tools (e.g., Autodesk EAGLE or similar)\nAbility to generate or modify Gerber files\nExperience with Cirris cable testers or similar equipment\nFamiliarity with general CAD and schematic capture tools\nMechanical aptitude, including designing simple fixtures\nMachining experience\nREX SYSTEMS INCORPORATED IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
