POSITION: Special Education TeacherLOCATION: Chateaugay Central School DistrictDescriptionProvide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications aligned to student needsCreate and maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and independenceDifferentiate instruction and utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to support diverse learning needsCollaborate with colleagues, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student successParticipate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, annual reviews, reevaluations, and transition planningImplement behavioral supports, intervention plans, and classroom management strategies that foster positive student behaviorCommunicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, needs, and educational programmingMaintain compliance with special education regulations and documentation requirementsParticipate in professional development opportunities and ongoing training related to special education best practicesQualificationsNYS Certification in Special EducationKnowledge of NYS Learning and NYSAAKnowledge of curriculum, effective instructional and behavioral strategies for students with disabilitiesAbility to work collaboratively as a member of the teamSTARTING DATE: September 1, 2026SALARY: Competitive salary based on the collective bargaining agreement and relative experienceBENEFITS: Membership in the NYS Teacher Retirement System, health insurance, sick and personal leaveQueries Should Be Directed ToCandace Poitras - Administrative AssistantFranklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCESP.O.
