The focus will be to reduce equipment downtime and optimize tool’s reliability.\n\nThe Tooling Engineer will work first shift and longer hours when required. This is an onsite role.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nImprove fabrication process through tooling design, tooling PM, design changes, and process improvements\nDesign, develop and test tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges, using CAD\nRecommend materials for tool production based on durability, cost, and function\nAnalyze and improve current tooling methods to increase efficiency and reduce cost\nGenerate frequency and standard work for tool/die preventative maintenance\nAnalyze quality of fabricated components and develop tool design/maintenance actions to improve\nWork within the toolroom and in the operations department to ensure tools are operating at peak efficiency\nAddress problems and make / implement solution to improve efficiencies, process, product flow, safety, and quality\nReport all necessary quality, production, and safety problems to Stakeholders\nDocument changes and revise detail prints and/or procedures to track the results of die repairs, modifications and improvements as they are made\nImplement and drive a robust tooling preventive maintenance program\nPrepare quotes and purchase replacement details, according to budget\nEstablish quarterly goals and objectives with Manager and Stakeholders\nReview and update print GD&T (software application) based on product requirements and process capabilities\nSupport internal PPAP process for internally fabricated components\nDrive continuous improvements efforts i.e., tooling cost reductions, improve usage or lower price without sacrificing quality\nTroubleshoot any problems that are presented during production or on the bench\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nAssociate’s degree with 7+ years’ experience (tool/die design and engineering)\n\nOR\n\nBachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ experience (tool/die design and engineering)\nPreferred Qualifications\nStamping press and/or tooling troubleshooting experience\nEnergetic, hands-on; able to drive change and continuous improvement\nExperience applying Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing principles\nFoster positive relationships with production and skilled trades employees, peers and manufacturing management\nWork with minimal guidance and direction\nEnglish written and verbal communication skills\nExperience in an union environment\nStrong computer and system skills, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Solid Works\n\nAdditional information\n\nMust have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA.\nNo visa sponsoring available\nPay Range\n\nThe annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually.
