As valued team members, students are also encouraged to share and implement their own ideas, enhancing both their personal growth and the collective success of the team.\n\nDescription:\n\nSoftware development for the battery plant Unreal Engine 5 project including gameplay mechanic development, VR/AR development, 3D data pipeline development, as well as department dashboard support, database development/support, and other innovation projects decided by management.\nDevelops and implements software solutions using Unreal Engine 5 to achieve project goals related to game mechanics, 3D data pipeline development, database connections, and networking.\nParticipates in cross-functional project teams to support software development activities within the department.\nAssists in the creation and maintenance of user and support documentation for areas of responsibility, ensuring clear communication of software functionalities.\nProvides technical support to department for resolving issues related to Unreal Engine 5 and other software projects.\nDevelops and optimizes algorithms and systems for automatic control and data management within projects.\nSupports department targets and goals for project completion, quality assurance, and efficient resource utilization.\nUnderstands and applies principles of Agile development and collaborative problem-solving in software projects.\nAdheres to coding standards and best practices.\nAdheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.\nPerforms other duties as assigned by management.\n\nThe qualified intern should expect to contribute to improvements in the following functions:\n\nConduct research and conceptualize new ideas.\nSupport project management and coordination of plans for related projects.\nCoordinate and support focused, community-based events and initiatives.\nCollect, analyze, and interpret information to evaluate the landscape against business strategies.\nStay abreast of best practices and recommend relevant initiatives for activities and actions.\nProvide regular input on enhancing processes and practices.\nSupport the organization’s vision, strategy, priorities, and roadmap.\nPartner with stakeholders to enable successful prioritization, development, delivery, and adoption of program goals.\nCreate PowerPoint slide decks for presentations and support preparation for meetings.\nParticipate in project team meetings.\nProvide general administrative support.\nSchedule the use of meeting room facilities on an as-needed basis.\nPerform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned by project team members.\n\nQualifications:\n\nBA/BS Degree in Computer Science (preferred), Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar degree\nPreferred: Base knowledge of C/C++, problem solving, passion for software development.\nOptional: Unreal Engine 5, Unity, Gadot, Software Version Control (Unity version control/Perforce)\nAssignment Training Plan (Technical and Process Skill Development): List any training the student will receive on BMW specific systems and processes (such as PQM, TAIS, CAMS, CATIA, Nuclos, etc.)\nSoftware architecture and design\nProject steering\nPresentation techniques\nBMW Project work international within the Gen6 Network (TS)THE WORK TERM\nExperience leading groups of people\nPossess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).\nHave enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.\nGood organization and project management skills.\nGood communication and presentation skills in English and preferably German.\nAnalytical, solution-oriented mindset.\nCompleted at least 30 credit hours at time of application.\nAbility to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).\nTransfer students must have a GPA from current university.\nMUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT.\nComplete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.\nDATES ARE January 11 2027 - May 14 2027\n\nBMW Manufacturing Company is an equal opportunity employer.
