Survey Field Assistant
We are looking for a dependable Survey Field Assistant to support our current survey crews in collecting accurate field data for roadway and transportation projects. This role works requires working outdoors alongside a Party Chief/ Crew Chief, helping with layout, measurements, and documentation that directly impacts construction quality and project timelines

Key responsibilities
Assist survey crews with construction staking and layout for roadways, grading and utilities
Carry and setup equipment including tripods, prisms, GPS units, and total stations
Hold rods, mark points, drive stakes, and flag survey locations
Clear brush/ obstructions to maintain line-of-sight for measurements
Record field notes and help verify measurements for accuracy
Load/ unload and maintain survey equipment and vehicles
Follow safety procedures on active construction sites and around traffic
Support daily field operations as directed by Party Chief/ Crew Chief
Follow all company policies per Employee Handbook
Follow all company safety policies outlined in the Employee Safety Manuel
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
0-2 years of construction or outdoor field experience preferred
Basic math skills and attention to details
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Valid drivers license and second form of ID
Clean driving record
Legally allowed to work in the United States
Ability to carry 50lbs
Able to safely walk uneven terrain
Professional Attitude and Conduct
High degree of safety awareness and safety discipline
Willing to travel and work away from home when and if required
Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
Strictly adhere to safety requirements and the policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by Pittman Construction Safety Policies and Procedures and OSHA
Be at least 18 years of age due to the nature of the working environment
Random and Suspicion Drug tests are performed
