In this role, you’ll write clean, thoroughly tested code across the entire stack, including building and maintaining RESTful APIs and using Hotwire to develop responsive, modern user interfaces. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering to ship features end-to-end, contribute to code reviews and architecture decisions, and play an active role in improving the performance and reliability of our platform as it grows.\n\nThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:\nWrite clean, maintainable code within the Rails framework, utilizing best practices.\nDesign and optimize RESTful APIs that power our suite of applications, ensuring they are reliable, performant, and consistent across the platform.\nIntegrate Hotwire components like Turbo Streams, Turbo Frames, and Stimulus to achieve smooth, near-instantaneous user interactions on the front-end.\nCollaborate with UX design and product management teams to brainstorm new and existing requirements\nImplement new features, new products, and help to improve existing features\nConsult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes.\nKeep your team up-to-date with your progress, issues, and status\nOur Tech Stack\nOur core web app (Hudu) and Radar (our network discovery product) are built with the latest Ruby on Rails and Hotwire — Radar consists of a Rails front end and Rails backend that communicate with each other\nThe service that runs on customer networks to collect data for Radar is built in Dart\nOur mobile app, which maintains feature parity with the core web app, is a separate product built with Flutter and Dart\nWe use RSPEC and practice Test Driven Development\nOur APIs are based on REST and documented with Swagger\nWe use Github for our PR Review Process, and Github Actions for our DevOps Pipeline\nWe use Sentry for error reporting\nWe use Docker to deploy the application in development and production\nAbout You:\n4+ years of experience developing software with Ruby on Rails.\nStrong understanding of Rails conventions within the following areas, ActiveRecord, routing, controllers, service objects, and background jobs.\nIn-depth experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.\nProficient in Hotwire (Stimulus.js and Turbo) for developing dynamic, interactive user interfaces.\nBonus points: Experience with Dart and Flutter — this would let you contribute to the Dart-based service within Radar and our Flutter-based mobile app\nProficient in modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.\nProven experience translating UI/UX designs into responsive, user-friendly interfaces.\nProficient in Git for version control.\nAbility to write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.\nCollaborative and communicative with a focus on teamwork and problem-solving.\nOpen to constructive feedback and actively participate in code reviews.\nExcellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines effectively.\nEager to learn, grow, and ask questions when needed.\nExcellent communication skills (including English, written and spoken)\nWhy Work at Hudu:\nInnovation & Impact : Rapid product evolution with regular feature updates and new tools.
