Data Engineer

A top client of ours in the Midwest is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions. This role will focus on leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Python, and PySpark to support advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives. You will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, reliable data pipelines and reporting solutions.This role is open as C-H or FTE. NO C2CKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and related Azure data servicesBuild and optimize ETL/ELT processes using Python and PySparkDevelop and maintain data models and semantic layers for reporting and analyticsCreate and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports for business stakeholdersEnsure data quality, integrity, and governance across data platformsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutionsMonitor and troubleshoot data workflows and performance issuesImplement best practices for data architecture, security, and scalabilityRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of experience in data engineering or related rolesStrong experience with Microsoft Fabric (or Azure Data Factory/Synapse as a foundation)Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data processingHands-on experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report development)Experience with SQL and relational/non-relational databasesFamiliarity with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft AzureStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailPreferred QualificationsExperience with Lakehouse architecturesKnowledge of Delta Lake or similar technologiesExperience with CI/CD pipelines for data workflowsUnderstanding of data governance and security best practicesExposure to machine learning workflows or data science collaboration
