Operates diagnostic fluoroscopy and various types of cardiac equipment, monitors patient vitals, performs routine calculations, circulates, and assists the physician during the procedure upon request. Prepares the procedure rooms, equipment, and patient for the procedure. Acts as liaison to the hospital Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).\r\nEducation\r\nAssociate degree in radiologic sciences.\r\nBachelor's degree in radiologic sciences (preferred).\r\nExperience\r\n2 years of experience as an allied health professional.\r\nCertifications\r\nBasic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).\r\nAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).\r\nRegistered Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice and registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).\r\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\r\nProficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.\r\nEffective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.\r\nStrong interpersonal skills.\r\nAbility to be detail-oriented, perform complex tasks which may be hazardous to patient welfare and detect equipment malfunctions.\r\nAbility to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of internal/external visitors in a highly stressful atmosphere.\r\nAbility to learn new procedures.\r\nKnowledge of and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory radiation requirements.\r\nAbility to work a flexible schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).\r\nJob Duties\r\nAssist the team in patient setup and prep before procedures and take down/clean up post-procedure.\r\nDocument procedures in logs for accurate billing and charge capture.\r\nOperate radiographic fluoroscopy equipment to obtain diagnostic images of coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease.\r\nConduct hemodynamic monitoring of patient during procedure and report values to performing physician.\r\nMonitor delivery of radiation dose to patient to achieve safe delivery with minimal exposure to staff.\r\nTransmit, archive, and retrieve digital images in PACS.\r\nPerform quality control, maintain fluoroscopy equipment and perform regular maintenance.\r\nAdapt behavior to specific patient population with respect for privacy and communication style.\r\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\r\nPhysical and Environmental Demands\r\nRequires exertion of 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly. Requires frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and handling of equipment. Exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
