We are currently recruiting to fill the following position:\nAbilityOne\nN/A\nJob Description\nPRIDE Industries\nJob Description\n\nJob: Sheet Metal Worker Maint\nJob Code: 752 - BL-Sheet Metal Wrkr Maint\nSalary Grade: Federal Wage Determination or Collective Bargaining Agreement\nFLSA Status: Non-Exempt\nApproval Date: August 2018\n\nSUPERVISES:\nThere are no direct reports with this position.\n\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nUnder general supervision, the sheet metal worker fabricates, installs and maintains sheet metal equipment and fixtures such as machine guards, grease pans, shelves, lockers, tanks, ducts, metal roofing, ventilators, etc. with attention to knowing and using safe work practices.\n\nTYPICAL DUTIES:\n1. * Select types of sheet metal or nonmetallic material.\n2. * Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets.\n3. * Drill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.\n4. * Install metal sheets with supportive frameworks.\n5. * Fabricates, installs and maintains in good repair the sheet-metal equipment and fixtures (such as machine guards, grease pans, shelves, lockers, tanks, ventilators, chutes, ducts, metal roofing) at worksites.\n6. *Plans and lays out all types of sheet-metal maintenance work from blueprints, models, or other specifications.\n7. *Sets up and operates all available types of sheet-metal working machines; using a variety of hand tools in cutting, bending, forming, shaping, fitting and assembling; and installing sheet-metal articles as required.\n8. *Fabricate or alter parts at work sites\n9. *Maneuver large sheet metal parts to be installed, and anchor the parts\n10. *Fasten seams or joints by welding, bolting, riveting, or soldering\n11. *Document service orders with actions and progress notes, ensuring accuracy before submitting in a timely manner.\n12. *Follow procedures, regulations and guidelines, minimizing errors and risks.\n13. *Diagnose problems and determine how to correct them.\n14. *Communication with customer relating to work performed.\n15. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.\n\nDenotes essential functions.\n\nTYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n2-3 years formal apprenticeship or equivalent experience in sheet metal.\nMathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; measurement of dimensions;\nUse and maintenance of own tools may be required;\nAbility to manage material resources and time;\nAbility to work safely;\nAbility to follow directions, instructions, structured process and procedures, and to complete tasks;\nCustomer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests; and escalate the more difficult matters appropriately;\nCommunication skills to provide procedural and factual information, and to follow written and oral instructions;\nFlexibility to adapt to changing work priorities, and to build effective working relationships with staff, customers and others;\nDemonstrated organizational, problem-solving and common-sense skills;\nAbility to manage and accurately track material resources and time, and adapt to changing work priorities;\nAbility to travel to various facilities, and to work independently and as a team.\n\nEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED\n\nCERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:\nThe following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements.\n\nValid Driver's License\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nEmployees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:\n\nManeuvering to and around equipment\nBending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching\nClimbing stepstools or ladders\nLifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nWork is performed at a customer’s location in office, shop, warehouse, or outdoor environment. May require driving to and from worksite locations. Equipment can be located in crawl spaces, rooftops, and outside facility.
