We're looking for an experienced Architect to join our Bozeman team and help lead the design, technical delivery, and growth of our architectural practice.\n\nAs a key leader within our full-service design team, you'll guide projects from concept through construction while mentoring staff, building client relationships, and helping shape the future of our firm. You'll collaborate with architects, engineers, planners, clients, and contractors to deliver exceptional projects that leave a lasting impact on the communities we serve.\n\nWe're seeking more than technical expertise. If you're ready to help drive design excellence while contributing to a supportive and innovative team culture, we'd love to hear from you.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead and mentor architectural staff throughout project planning, design, documentation, and construction phases.\n\nFoster a collaborative environment that promotes innovation, professional growth, and design excellence.\n\nGuide project teams through complex design challenges while ensuring projects meet budget, schedule, and client expectations.\n\nServe as a technical and design resource for project teams, consultants, and clients.\n\nOversee the preparation, review, and approval of construction documents, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals.\n\nEnsure project deliverables reflect sound design principles, technical accuracy, quality standards, and applicable code requirements.\n\nCoordinate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver integrated design solutions.\n\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and community stakeholders.\n\nParticipate in business development efforts, including proposals, project interviews, and client relationship management.\n\nSupport the long-term success and growth of the architectural studio through leadership, mentorship, and strategic planning.\n\nRequirements\n\nMaster's degree in architecture or higher.\n\nMinimum of 10 years of professional experience in the building industry; 15+ years preferred.\n\nLicensed Architect with current professional registration. NCARB certification preferred.\n\nDemonstrated experience leading architectural projects from concept through construction.\n\nStrong design and technical expertise with a commitment to delivering high-quality projects.\n\nProven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.\n\nPassion for mentoring and developing less experienced staff.\n\nThorough understanding of the International Building Code (IBC), accessibility requirements, and related regulations.\n\nExcellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.\n\nStrong attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities.\n\nStrategic thinker with the flexibility to adapt to changing project and business needs.\n\nProficiency in Autodesk Revit and BIM workflows with a strong understanding of collaborative project delivery.\n\nExperience with Microsoft 365 and Bluebeam preferred.\n\nWHY JOIN JACKOLA?\nAt Jackola, we are committed to supporting our employees both professionally and personally.
