TITLE: Quality Systems Technician - 3rd ShiftLOCATION:Onsite in Alsip, IL SHIFT & HOURS:Third Shift Sunday - Thursday 10:00pm - 6:30am COMP HIRING RANGE: $43,000-$57,000/year Summary: Provides laboratory and technical assistance to Manufacturing and Quality Systems. Conducts laboratory tests of materials and inspection of packaged products to determine approval and reports results. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Performs sensory, physical, and chemical tests on finished products to assure they meet established specifications. Evaluates Bill of Material (BOM) for completeness and proper documentation. Records test data and maintains laboratory work list in LIMS system to assure timely release of finished products. Reports nonconformance with immediate corrective actions in LIMS system. Performs required inspection for manufacturing equipment, storage equipment, and sanitation cleaning. Participates in check sample program with outside institution(s) and in internal proficiency program to verify accuracy. Follows proper GMPs and GLPs. Uses proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary. Assists with Raw Material testing, COA review, and COA filing as needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Food Science/Chemistry or Bachelor's degree with relevant experience (minimum of 6 months) in a Laboratory or food company or Associates degree with 2 years' experience in a food processing company with exposure to quality assurance/control/testing. Able to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to communicate with individuals and small groups. Ability to read, write, understand and speak English Language.
