This position will monitor staff's performance and address issues concerning the production and quality of a product. This is a working position in the work cell which operates within an environment where standardized work, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S principles are practiced. This position reports to the Production Lead II.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Daily team engagement through morning meetings and communication boardsAssign daily work to the work cell and give instructions to the teamCheck and perform routine quality audits and first article inspection to approve new team members and production methods/processes/proceduresMonitor productivity, safety, quality, and delivery goals of the work cellHandles minor team conflict and escalates when appropriateRefers to the engineer drawings to ensure the correct parts are pulled and usedCoordinates activities to produce orders according to standardized work instructionsMaintain supplies, inventory, and documentation at stationsFollows all safety regulations and enforces safety policiesSets daily productivity goals and works with the team to achieve themLeads and participates in daily cell changeoversPerforms preventive maintenanceSolves routine problems by utilizing troubleshooting methodsInsures that standardized work and Lean manufacturing practices are being followedRecommends and assists in improvement projectsPerforms other essential duties as assigned by managementRequired Experience and Knowledge/ Skills/Ability2-3 years prior experience building basic mechanical and/or electrical assemblies or assembly preparationUp to 1-year experience mentoring or supervising othersDetail-oriented and multi-tasking skillsAbility to organize assemblies in an efficient mannerAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsExhibit cooperation and teamwork skillsBasic math skills - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers & measurementsConvert inches to millimetersBasic computer skills; ability to use Microsoft OfficeSelf-motivated and eager to take on responsibilityAble to lift 40 lbs.At TAPCO, we aim to enhance transportation and personal safety in our communities through innovative solutions and products.
