The contractor will be expected to work onsite two days per week initially and will eventually be required to work onsite three days per week. The role will support enterprise servers, databases, applications, and cloud environments across multiple NC DOA divisions.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have strong experience with Windows Server administration, SQL Server database administration, Azure environments, Azure DevOps, application development, and enterprise system maintenance. The candidate should also be comfortable working directly with both technical and non-IT agency staff.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nServer Administration\n\nAdminister a portfolio of approximately 15 enterprise servers supporting application, database, web, and file/print functions.\nManage Azure-hosted Development and QA environments and DIT-hosted Production, Test, and Training environments.\nSupport externally hosted application servers for the Mail Service Center.\nManage certificate administration, service accounts, and security configurations across supported servers.\nSupport Windows Server refresh and migration projects.\nMaintain server availability, reliability, security, and performance across supported environments.\n\nDatabase Administration\n\nAdminister multiple SQL Server databases across Azure and DIT hosting environments.\nSupport Development and QA databases as well as Production, Test, and Training databases supporting agency applications.\nMaintain databases supporting the Mail Service Center, Motor Fleet, Non-Public Education, State Clearinghouse, and State Construction Office (Interscope).\nSupport databases utilized by external vendors for the Mail Service Center and State Parking.\nEnsure database integrity, performance, and security.\nSupport database migrations and platform upgrades.\nTroubleshoot SQL Server database issues and provide ongoing database support.\n\nApplication Development & DevOps\n\nServe as an Azure DevOps administrator, managing iterations, sprints, pipelines, boards, and work items.\nDesign, develop, and maintain application components supporting Mail Service Center, Motor Fleet Management, Non-Public Education, and State Construction (Interscope).\nDevelop and maintain ASP.NET web applications and standalone utilities used across multiple divisions.\nSupport secure coding practices, application deployment, and application reliability.\nSupport applications across cloud and on-premise environments.\nCollaborate with technical teams and agency staff to identify requirements and implement effective solutions.\nTroubleshoot application, server, database, and deployment issues.\nSupport ongoing system maintenance, enhancements, and platform operations.\n\nRequirements\n\nRequired Experience:\n\n3+ years of experience with Windows Server administration.\n3+ years of experience with SQL Server database administration.\n3+ years of experience with Windows Server environments, migrations, certificates, service accounts, and multi-tier architectures.\n3+ years of experience managing complex environments across Development, QA, Test, Training, and Production.\n3+ years of experience working directly with non-IT agency staff.\nExperience supporting enterprise server and database environments.\nStrong understanding of Windows Server administration and enterprise infrastructure.\nStrong SQL Server database administration skills.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to work across application development, server administration, database administration, and DevOps responsibilities.\nStrong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n3+ years of experience with Azure DevOps, including pipelines, iterations, boards, and work items.\nExperience with Azure-hosted Development and QA environments.\nExperience supporting DIT-hosted Production, Test, and Training environments.\nExperience developing and maintaining ASP.NET applications.\nExperience with Windows Server refresh and migration projects.\nExperience supporting secure coding and application
