Interpreters must possess thorough knowledge of and adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct. The Interpreter Apprentice will be part of the Video Interpreter Apprentice program which combines paid skills development training with processing VRS calls. This program also allows progression and further development of skill in a hands-on environment.\nJob Requirements\nMust be available to work 36 hours per week\nMust pass the company’s interpreter skills assessment for Interpreter Apprenticeship\nMust attend and successfully complete Apprenticeship Training\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:\n\nProvide effective video relay service, for consumers\nSupport and model the company's mission and values\nProvide excellent customer service while maintaining a respectful and professional attitude with customers and colleagues\nExhibit professional behavior at all times including punctuality and preparedness for shifts, respectful and collaborative interaction with colleagues and supervisors, and timely and accurate record keeping\nAdhere to all policies and procedures as outlined by the company and all FCC regulations\nDemonstrate the ability to adapt quickly to new and changing technologies\nMulti-task between interpreting effectively and utilizing video-based technology\nParticipate in company-sponsored training for Professional Development\nExhibit the ability to meet performance expectations with minimal supervision\nPossess the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment\nDemonstrate strong interpersonal skills in all settings\n\nMinimum Qualification Requirements:\n\nProficient ASL and spoken English language skills\nAble to provide accurate interpretation\nGood understanding of Deaf culture\nThorough knowledge of and adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct\nThree to five years of experience in interpreting (preferred but not required)\nYou must be 18 years or older to apply\nInterpreter Apprentices are not eligible for shift differentials or promo pay while in the Interpreter Apprentice Program\n\nDisclaimer:\nThe above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
