This position supports aircraft safety and compliance with internal and external electromagnetic requirements, including Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), High-Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF), Low-Intensity Radiated Fields (LIRF), Lightning, and Electrostatic Discharge.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nLead complex engineering assignments related to EMI, HIRF, LIRF, Lightning, and Electrostatics, including detailed analyses using similarity assessments, simulation, and analytical methods\nDrive resolution of electromagnetic-related issues to support EMC certification, sustaining activities, production, and in-service aircraft support\nDefine EMC scope of work, project effort, activities, milestones, technical risks, and task priorities for engineering projects\nAnalyze new and modified system or structure designs to assess engineering impacts and propose EMC compliance approaches\nReview and approve engineering documentation, including test procedures, test reports, analysis reports, and certification compliance documentation\nSupport creation and updates of technical requirements for EMI, HIRF, LIRF, Lightning, and Electrostatics\nPrepare and review aircraft-level EMI, HIRF, LIRF, Lightning, and Electrostatic Discharge test procedures, oversee testing, and generate test reports\nProvide EMC guidance to internal teams, external suppliers, partners, clients, and collaborative research and development teams\nMentor junior team members and interns, delegate project work, and support knowledge capture, training, and skills development initiatives\nRepresent the EMC team in multidisciplinary meetings and support EMC testing in Canada, the United States, and Europe as needed\nIdentify and implement improvements to engineering processes, technical practices, and EMC best practices\nComply with company policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned\nKNOWLEDGE\nAdvanced knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility, including EMI, HIRF, LIRF, Lightning, Electrostatics, and Electrostatic Discharge requirements\nKnowledge of aerospace EMC qualification and certification processes for aircraft systems and structures\nWorking knowledge of relevant industry standards, including RTCA/DO-160 and SAE Aerospace Recommended Practices\nFamiliarity with airworthiness regulations and advisory materials from TCCA, FAA, and EASA related to EMC compliance\nKnowledge of test planning, aircraft-level EMC testing, analysis reports, certification documentation, and compliance verification\nExperience with electromagnetic simulation tools is preferred\nCOMPETENCIES\nStrong engineering leadership and ability to work independently on complex technical assignments\nExcellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills\nAbility to identify technical, schedule, and budget risks related to EMC activities\nClear and professional written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences\nAbility priorities, deadlines, multidisciplinary reviews, and occasional travel requirements\nEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION\nDegree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Sciences, Physics, or a related technical discipline required\nMinimum of eight years of EMC experience, which may include professional and/or academic experience, required\nMinimum of four years of aerospace systems or structures EMC qualification/certification experience required\nExperience participating in major project and design reviews and identifying EMC-related technical, schedule, and budget risks required\nDemonstrated specialist-level expertise in at least one area of EMC, with broad knowledge across additional EMC disciplines required\nParticipation in at least one aircraft development program is preferred\nFrench language skills, knowledge of the aviation business, and experience with electromagnetic simulation tools are preferred\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer\nRepetitive use of the hands, wrists, and arms due to computer usage\nWork is primarily performed in an office or engineering environment with occasional exposure to laboratory, test,
