The Events & Catering Prep Cook plays a vital role in supporting culinary operations by preparing ingredients and assisting in the execution of menus for meetings, weddings, and special events. The Events & Catering Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen organization, and supporting the culinary team in executing banquet and catering menus. This role works closely with Chefs and kitchen staff to ensure all food is prepared to standard and delivered on time. Requested Tasks Prepare ingredients including chopping, slicing, portioning, and measuring according to recipes and event needsAssist in the preparation of menu items for banquet and catering eventsMaintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, prep areas, and kitchen equipmentFollow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelinesEnsure proper storage and labeling of food items in accordance with food safety standardsAssist with receiving and organizing kitchen inventorySupport the culinary team during event execution as neededFollow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulationsMaintain a clean and safe kitchen environment at all times Requested Capabilities Prior experience in a kitchen, prep cook, or culinary support role preferredBasic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operationsUnderstanding of food safety and sanitation standardsAbility to follow recipes and instructions accuratelyStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPositive attitude and willingness to learn and growAbility to stand and work for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry objects up to 50 poundsAbility to bend, reach, and perform repetitive kitchen tasksAbility to safely use kitchen tools, equipment, and knives As part of the Makeready collection, we proudly offer a variety of thoughtful benefits and perks to our eligible part-time team members, including free TeleDoc visits, dental/hearing/vision benefits, and assistance with medical equipment including diabetic supplies and a wide range of ancillary benefits.
