The Machine Operator aligns with manufacturing operations to achieve optimal production efficiency and effectiveness in support of the overall goals and objectives of the department. Machine operators are responsible for always maintaining the highest standard of safety.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nStart machinery and adjust machinery when necessary to improve performance\nOperate machinery and equipment according to instructions\nTroubleshoot issues and report maintenance issues\nPerform Quality Inspections, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor\nComply with all safety and health regulations\nResponsible for general housekeeping in and around immediate work area\nProcess and packages production to specification of work order\nDevelop and follow standardized work instructions to minimize machine downtime\nFollow all safety and food safety guidelines always and take a proactive approach to safe working conditions\nMaintain familiarity with SDS and other regulated material information, requirements, and guidelines.\nAssist during shift changes to ensure a smooth transition from crew to crew.\nAlert appropriate personnel of production-related issues in an efficient manner. Communicate all important information including but not limited to quality concerns, equipment problems, safety issues, and others.\nOther duties as assigned.\nREQUIRED SKILLS / ATTITUDES:\nPreferred High School Diploma or GED\nPreferred machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience\nAbility to follow written and oral instructions\nAbility to understand basic Quality Control methods\nKnowledge of basic hand tools\nKnowledge of the products manufactured in the facility w/ basic computer / scanning technology experience\nPHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:\nWhile performing the duties, the employee will be required to sit and/or stand, talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands, fingers and arms to feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms. Prolonged standing/walking periods of 12 hours.
