Experience working with cloud platforms—preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)—is highly desirable. Familiarity with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices is also preferred.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAdminister and optimize high volume Microsoft SQL Server instances and PostgreSQL systems (including Cloud SQL) in highly available environments.\nInstall, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain SQL Server instances and databases.\nManage database security, including user access, roles, permissions, and Active Directory integration.\nPerform database backups, restores, recovery testing, and snapshot activities.\nMonitor and optimize database performance, availability, storage, data files, and transaction logs.\nExecute SQL scripts for application deployments, schema changes, data population, and remediation.\nDevelop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine DBA tasks, including health checks, backups, maintenance, job monitoring, disk-space validation, and reporting.\nSchedule, monitor, and troubleshoot automated database administration jobs and SQL Agent jobs.\nRespond to monitoring alerts related to disk space, transaction log growth, failed jobs, database availability, and performance issues.\nInvestigate and resolve database connectivity, permissions, replication, and performance incidents.\nSupport and maintain Fivetran HVR replication channels for on-premises-to-cloud data movement.\nTroubleshoot replication failures and ensure data consistency across source and target systems.\nSupport database change requests, technical requirement deployments, UAT testing, and production releases.\nCollaborate with development, infrastructure, security, application support, and data teams.\nParticipate in scheduled maintenance windows and occasional after-hours production support.\nCreate and maintain DBA documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n8+ years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server DBA and Postgres experience.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience required.\nExperience supporting SQL Server 2016, 2019, and/or 2022.\nStrong T-SQL scripting, query optimization, and performance-tuning skills.\nProficiency in PowerShell scripting for SQL Server administration and operational automation.\nExperience with SQL Server backup, restore, recovery, and disaster-recovery processes.\nStrong knowledge of database security, user access management, roles, and permissions.\nExperience with SQL Server monitoring tools such as Idera SQL Diagnostic Manager (SQL DM) or similar platforms.\nExperience managing database storage, transaction logs, file growth, and capacity planning.\nKnowledge of database replication and data-integration technologies.\nExperience supporting production incidents, root-cause analysis, and change-management processes.\nExperience with any cloud solution (GCP preferred)\nFamiliarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Git/version-control practices.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with Fivetran HVR data replication.\nExperience supporting data migration and on-premises-to-cloud integration projects.\nExperience in regulated, financial services, or other highly controlled environments.\nKnowledge of formal change-management processes, including DCRs and technical deployment requirements.\nTechnologies Used:\nMicrosoft SQL Server (2016 / 2019 / 2022)\nPostgres\nPowerShell\nT-SQL\nFivetran HVR\nIdera SQL Diagnostic Manager (SQL DM)\nWindows Server\nActive Directory\nGCP Cloud\nTerraform\nGit\n\nWork Environment\n\nThis job operates in a hybrid office environment three days per week.\n\n#databaseadministrator #DBA #SQL #SQLserver #full-time #LI-SG1 #APEX\n\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this job.
