Employee Relations Specialist

The Employee Relations Specialist will support the Midland regional office in key HR functions, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and engagement. This role ensures a positive work environment, fosters employee satisfaction, and enhances organizational efficiency through comprehensive HR support.
This role requires frequent travel to Carlsbad, NM.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide guidance to managers and employees on company policies, procedures, and employment laws.
Assist in implementing employee relations strategies to promote a positive and productive work culture.
Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including conducting orientation sessions and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
Process pre-employment paperwork including background checks, MVR, and DISA drug screens.
Monitor the progress of new employees during their initial months of employment, providing support and resources as needed.
Work with various departments to ensure a seamless transition for new employees into their roles.
Assist in the organization of employee events, team-building activities, and recognition programs.
Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding workplace issues, concerns, and disputes.
Monitor SAMBA motor vehicle and SAMSARA vehicle camera compliance systems.
Conduct investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and conflicts, providing resolution and corrective actions as needed.
Conducts exit interviews and summarizes findings.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on employee relations and recruiting.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Experience with DISA programs preferred.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Willing to travel 25-50% of the time to Carlsbad, NM
