This is a 2nd shift position with the opportunity for hire.\n\nFab Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:\n\nPerforms tasks safely including wearing safety glasses and gloves as described in JHA requirements.\nSets up, adjusts, and operates machines to produce quality parts.\nOpens and closes work orders in IQMS dashboard.\nPrints drawings in IQMS dashboard.\nProduces high quality parts from prints, knows model numbers, and which components are required for the products.\nConsistently produces at an acceptable level of productivity with some supervision.\nTroubleshoots machine problems. (I.e., machines, tools, etc.).\nCorrects machine and tooling setup for press brakes, drilling centers, and benders.\nKeeps tooling in top operating condition. (I.e., sharpens in house when feasible or notifies engineering when tool needs sharpening.\nPerforms normal maintenance activities such as die sharpening, shimming, and mounting.\nTakes ownership of assigned equipment for 5S programs. I.e., cleanliness, spares, tool shadow boards, etc.\nMay program new products on CNC equipment by using prints and machine/tooling knowledge.\nMakes recommendations for tooling replacement, repair, and purchase.\nMentors and coaches other Machine Operators to help them improve these skills and abilities.\nFills in or assists in leading production team when needed.\nPerforms tasks safely including wearing safety glasses and gloves as described in JHA requirements.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nFab Machine Operator Requirements:\n\nPrevious machine operating experience preferred (I.e., experience with tube benders, press brakes and steel saws.)\nAbility to read tape measure, calipers, and micrometer is required.\nUnderstanding of metric and decimal measurements.\nKnowledge of computers to utilize IQMS as required.\nSkills in reviewing and accurately interpreting blueprint drawing for part number, tolerance, dimensions, etc.\nBalances, stoops, kneels, crouches, and reaches to work overhead.\nWalks or stands for a minimum of 8 hours with limited breaks.\nPushes and pulls materials, fingers and grasps parts and components.\nExerts up to fifty pounds of force frequently.\nPays close visual acuity to perform inspections and operate machines.\nTolerates extremes in weather and machine temperature.\nTolerates loud noise.\nExtensive use with power/hand tools.\nRequires visual acuity to access details (I.e., prints, parts, work orders, etc.)\nRequires communication skills so ideas and instructions can be given clearly and/or quickly and understood.\nRequires the ability to distinguish between speech, machinery, and other sounds to understand instructions and/or directions.\n\nIND124\n\nAbout us:\nQPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
