As a core contributor to Aviator, you will work on features spanning user authentication, backend connectivity, and app lifecycle management.   What You’ll Do:  Design and build app features using Kotlin and modern Android practices (Coroutines/Flow, DI, etc.). Integrate with backend APIs (REST, gRPC) for authentication, data synchronization, and user management. Write robust logs for app reliability and traceability.   Develop automated unit and UI tests using JUnit, MockK/Mockito, and Espresso/Compose Testing to verify UI, ViewModels, repositories, user interactions, and end-to-end application workflows. Contribute to the overall software goals and current requirements of Flyby Robotics.  Core Requirements: 2+ years of professional experience in Android development using Kotlin.  Extensive knowledge of Kotlin reactive programming (Flow, StateFlow, SharedFlow), Coroutines, and Hilt Dependency Injection. Proven track record of delivering high-quality code, project ownership, and writing robust tests. Demonstrated competence with version control and code documentation. Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.  Nice to have: Experience building in-app update mechanisms. Understanding of MAVLink and the ArduPilot stack.  Familiarity with Gstreamer, MQTT, and MapBox. You have a love for robots, drones, and hardware. Compensation and Benefits: $130,000 per year annual salary. 0.25% equity via stock options, depending on the candidate's experience. Company holiday calendar and unlimited PTO. Company group health insurance plans. You'll be building something incredibly consequential.
