The Process Engineer is responsible for equipment improvement, standardization, technical training, and problem‑solving activities for an assigned line. The role of the Process Engineer is to eliminate process losses on equipment or areas and drive standards and problem‑solving. The Line Trio team also includes a Maintenance Leader and Line Leader.\n\nResponsibilities And Tasks\n\nServe as backup to the Line Leader and lead Daily Direction Setting (DDS) process when Line Leader is unavailable\n\nIdentify, prioritize, and eliminate process losses (lead discussion on losses and top 3 plan for the month in weekly DDS)\n\nProvide feedback to design (materials & product initiatives) and lead smart standardization deployment\n\nDefine the equipment standards\n\nDirect and coach the change management & validation processes\n\nLead, build and coach the capability of process failures technical troubleshooting\n\nLead and coach process benchmarking & reapplication\n\nCollaborate with Line Leader and line team (frontline workers) to develop new standards\n\nDesign, implement and maintain systems to collect and analyze data for critical product and process parameters to identify process losses\n\nCollaborate with line management to prioritize improvement opportunities\n\nEliminate or reduce (prioritized) losses through process or work system changes\n\nParticipate in the daily direction‑setting process – report results, flag issues and request resources\n\nOwn critical Daily Management Systems (DMS)\n\nUse Reliability Engineering tools to drive centerlining and loss elimination\n\nStandardize equipment and work processes\n\nOwn the Change Management (CM) system for a designated process\n\nUpdate process control strategies and operating procedures as changes occur\n\nShare and reapply learning across processes, modules, and plants\n\nPrepare and give training on process/equipment changes\n\nDevelop self through participating in corporate and external training\n\nParticipate in planned stops and changeovers on the line as needed\n\nStandardize and improve changeovers and Clean In Place (CIP) activities\n\nSpend 60-80% of time on the floor\n\nBecome a technical expert for a designated process\n\nTrain and become proficient on all basic line team roles\n\nCoach and collaborate with the line teams and site and regional equipment or process owners\n\nDelivers on SQCDMN daily/weekly/monthly/yearly goals and objectives through individual and team efforts\n\nEnsures adherence to safety standards and regulations (WISE) to ensure a safe working environment\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\n\nWhile performing duties, the employee frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; taste and/or smell, talk and hear.\n\nAbility to bend & stoop at waist level as well as bend & twist neck and head.\n\nThe employee must regularly endure repetitive minimal to moderate lifting 10–50 lbs and occasional team lifting above 50 lbs.
