This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, infrastructure, and emerging AI-driven development practices.\nThe ideal candidate is an experienced engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about leveraging modern tools—including agentic coding systems and generative AI workflows—to push the limits of development productivity and platform scalability.\nYou will work closely with web developers, software engineers, and data teams to build reliable infrastructure, streamline development workflows, and deploy high-performance applications across cloud environments.\n\nPosition Title: DevOps Engineer\nPosition Type: Full Time / Salary Exempt\nReporting To: VP of Technology\nLocation: Z SUPPLY Headquarters – Costa Mesa, CA\nWork Type: HYBRID, In office 3-4 Days / Remote 1-2 Days\n\nPOSITION DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES\nDesign, implement, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure supporting ecommerce platforms and internal software systems.\nBuild and manage CI/CD pipelines and development workflows to support rapid, reliable application deployment.\nCollaborate with ecommerce web development and software engineering teams to improve deployment processes, developer tooling, and system reliability.\nArchitect and maintain cloud-native web application environments including containerization, infrastructure automation, and deployment orchestration.\nDevelop and maintain data engineering pipelines, database integrations, and system-to-system data workflows.\nImplement and scale generative AI workflows and automation systems, including platforms such as n8n, ComfyUI, and other AI orchestration frameworks.\nUtilize modern AI development methodologies, including orchestrating agentic coding systems to accelerate development and improve operational efficiency.\nMonitor system performance, reliability, and security across production environments.\nContinuously evaluate and adopt new technologies that improve engineering productivity and infrastructure performance.\nPartner with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with business goals and supports future growth.\nPotential Travel up to 1-2 times per year for position training / conference requirements\n\nQUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering roles.\nStrong experience managing and deploying systems on AWS cloud infrastructure (ECS, S3, RDS, etc).\nFamiliarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker).\nProven experience supporting ecommerce web development environments and software engineering teams.\nDeep understanding of CI/CD workflows, automation, and development lifecycle tooling.\nStrong programming skills with hands-on development experience in JavaScript, Ruby, and Python.\nExperience building and maintaining data pipelines, database integrations, and backend infrastructure.\nExperience implementing or scaling generative AI systems and workflows.\nFamiliarity with AI automation/orchestration tools such as ComfyUI, n8n, or similar platforms.\nExperience integrating AI-assisted development or agentic coding workflows into engineering processes\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nFamiliarity with Shopify and Ruby on Rails.\nExperience with observability and monitoring platforms.\nBackground in high-scale ecommerce or retail technology environments.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT\nThis is a hybrid office-based role requiring frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
