You'll help ensure our platform engineering teams have all the tools and services they need to thrive and delivery high quality features to customers.\n\nABOUT THE TEAM\n\nThe team you will be joining supports two critical areas in the development lifecycle: maintaining robust test automation frameworks and even more critical automated release process for the Appian platform. We work with all stakeholders in the company, from platform engineers to support staff assisting customers, providing an opportunity to see the entire development and delivery cycle in action.\n\nTHE OPPORTUNITY\n\nAs a Software Engineer II on this team, you will help maintain the services that contribute to the automated testing and release frameworks, as well as create new services and tools that enable our platform engineers to produce higher quality code at a faster pace. Additionally, you'll help evaluate new tools that could be of use to the department.\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\n\nDevelop Quality Code: write clean, dependable and highly tested code that maintains our critical services, and bootstrap new projects.\nLeverage AI Responsibly: Use our trove of agentic tools to aid in your development, without losing a sense of personal craftsmanship.\nEngage with Internal Stakeholders: work with our direct users to address their feedback and find new ways to improve their workflows.\n\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\nEducation: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field. (Equivalent experience is not accepted in lieu of a degree).\nPrior Experience: Previous software development exposure (at least 1-2 years) gained through full-time work experience.\nLanguage Command: Technical fluency in at least one modern programming language, preferably Python, Go or Rust.\nFoundational Cloud Native Understanding: Understand how to use service providers like AWS, Azure or GCP to develop cloud native or serverless solutions.\nCommunication Skills: Excellent spoken and written communication skills with a passion for collaborative problem-solving.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\nFamiliarity with AWS and modern web technologies.\nPrevious experience working on a team that supports internal engineering teams.\nScripting experience with bash or python\n\nTools and Resources\n\nTraining and Development: During onboarding, we focus on equipping new hires with the skills and knowledge for success through department-specific training.
