The coach/sponsor will be expected to teach and develop the student's knowledge and skills required in each particular activity.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: To be determined - salary to be established by the Board of EducationEssential FunctionsTeaches basic, fundamental skills; develops advanced skillsDevelops positive personality traits in students, such as self-esteem, confidence, integrity, punctuality, collaboration, and loyaltyInstills character in students, including a sense of fair play and a positive attitude toward winning and losingProvides opportunities that will allow the program to facilitate experiences where students cope with challenges and handle stressful situations similar to those encountered in real lifeProvide support for students and work to develop and enrich resiliency in students. Improves the overall fitness levels of studentsEncourages students to participate, develop, and value learning. Obeys and respects the decisions of referees and officials. Sets the example of exemplary behavior and self-discipline at all timesCollaborates with teaching staff; observes eligibility requirements for participating studentsRecords the attendance and performance of each studentEncourages students to participate in more extracurricular activities to develop a wider variety of skills. Inventories equipment, keeping accurate records of damage and lossesRecommends equipment and supply budget to superiorsAttends professional meetings; keeps learning about new developments in the sportMaintains proper endorsements/authorizations through meetings, workshops, and other professional development courses.
