Oversees regulatory adherence, incident investigations, and employee training initiatives that promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.\r\nEssential Functions\r\nThe employee will demonstrate TSTC's Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.\r\nProgram Management & Regulatory Compliance\r\nManage and administer environmental health and safety programs across the organization to ensure adherence to all applicable environmental and occupational safety regulations.\r\nRisk Identification & Mitigation\r\nDevelop and implement processes to identify, evaluate, and mitigate environmental and safety risks related to hazardous materials, waste management, and operational activities.\r\nIncident Review & Corrective Action\r\nReview environmental incidents and accident reports to determine root causes and establish corrective and preventive action plans.\r\nPolicy Monitoring & Regulatory Updates\r\nMonitor and interpret changes in environmental and safety laws, regulations, and industry standards; update internal policies, procedures, and practices accordingly.\r\nTraining & Awareness Development\r\nDesign and deliver training and education programs to increase employee awareness of environmental policies, compliance requirements, and organizational safety standards.\r\nOperational Collaboration & Integration\r\nPartner with operational and departmental leaders to integrate EHS practices into daily workflows, projects, and long-term planning initiatives.\r\nDocumentation, Audits & Reporting\r\nPrepare compliance reports, maintain required documentation, and support internal and external audits to ensure organizational transparency and accountability.\r\nEducation & Experience – Required\r\nBachelor's degree in safety, environmental health and safety, emergency management, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field.\r\nEight years of progressive experience in environmental health and safety.\r\nExperience managing EHS programs for multi-site organizations.\r\n2-3 years of administrative or operational experience.\r\n2-3 years staff management experience.\r\nExperience developing and managing budgets.\r\nStrong organizational and communication skills.\r\nProficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office.\r\nPreferred\r\nExperience managing EHS programs in higher education or the public sector.\r\nCSP certification preferred.\r\nSkills And Abilities\r\nStrong working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety laws, standards, and audit requirements.\r\nAbility to identify hazards, analyze root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.\r\nCapability to supervise employees, manage performance, and coach team members for growth.\r\nClear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to educate diverse employee groups on policies and procedures.\r\nSkill in managing multiple initiatives, meeting deadlines, and maintaining compliance documentation and reporting.\r\nCore Competencies\r\nAdministrative Execution – Effectively manages documents, records, schedules, and transactions in compliance with policy.
