This role will help to ensure that R&P Technologies has the procedures in place to support accurate and effective monthly and year-end financial statements as well as executive decision making. The Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with other departments to provide financial insights to support organizational goals and decision-making.\n\nResponsibilities\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nCore Accounting Leadership\n\nOversee all accounts and subsidiary ledgers and manage daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, and the GL ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and DCAA regulatory requirements.\n\nLead the monthly and annual close process including preparation of financial statements and management reports.\n\nPrepare and review journal entries, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations and resolving discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.\n\nMaintain the chart of accounts and ensure consistent coding and classification throughout the company.\n\nPartner with department leaders to ensure financial accuracy and operational alignment.\n\nAnalyze financial data for budget variances and provide insight to management on what is driving large variances.\n\nPayroll Oversight\n\nSupervise the payroll function ensuring accurate, complaint, and timely processing for all employees.\n\nReview payroll registers, tax filings, and adjustments prior to submission.\n\nMaintain segregation of duties between HR and Payroll.\n\nCoordinate with HR on onboarding, terminations, leave programs, and benefits changes that impact payroll.\n\nOversee payroll reconciliations, including taxes, garnishments, and benefit carrier invoices.\n\nInternal Controls and Compliance\n\nWork with leadership in the development, implementation, and monitoring of financial and operational controls.\n\nMaintain and strengthen existing internal controls across accounting and payroll processes.\n\nEnsure compliance with GAAP, federal/state/local tax regulations, and company policies.\n\nDevelop and maintain SOP’s for accounting and payroll functions.\n\nOther responsibilities\n\nDevelopment of accounting/finance policies and procedures.\n\nSupport the preparation of indirect rate models, incurred cost submissions, and other government-mandated reporting requirements.\n\nStay updated on changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance.\n\nCollaborate with external auditors during annual audits.\n\nSpecial projects as assigned.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.\n\nAt least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in the government contracting industry.\n\nStrong knowledge of GAAP principles and DCAA compliance requirements.\n\nExperience managing government contracts, including FFP, CPFF, and T&M structures.\n\nExperience with indirect rate modeling, incurred cost submissions, and other FAR-related reporting.\n\nFamiliarity with ERP systems, Unanet preferred but not required.\n\nIntermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools.\n\nExcellent analytical skills with attention to detail.\n\nStrong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.\n\nEEO Statement\nR&P Technologies provides equal opportunity for all persons and prohibits discrimination in employment because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability (including pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions), veteran or marital status, or any other factor prohibited by law.
