The position involves laboratory and manufacturing work, collaboration with cross‑disciplinary teams, and oversight of materials and processes for mission‑critical assets.\nResponsibilities Select Materials and Processes (M&P) for new designs to support defense and satellite manufacturing.\nPerform M&P technical engineering assignments, troubleshooting, and innovative solutions.\nParticipate in selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of materials & processes, prepare technical and progress reports, specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports.\nCoordinate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.\nQualifications Knowledge of materials and process engineering disciplines including non‑metals, adhesives, bonding, cleaning, failure analysis, and manufacturing operations.\nExperience and/or field of study in materials and processes.\nFormal coursework, training or experience in Materials or Processes development, improvement, design, application and production.\nEligibility and willingness to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance; US citizenship required.\nDesired Skills Familiarity with aerospace materials and processes.\nUnderstanding of technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements).\nExperience with non‑conformance and failure analysis disposition.\nKnowledge of material properties definitions.\nB.S. in Material Science & Engineering, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.\nGood writing, communication and interpersonal skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite.\nActive or current Top Secret Security clearance.\nSecurity Clearance Top Secret. This position requires a government security clearance and US citizenship.\nWork Schedules Lockheed Martin offers various alternate work schedules; this role requires onsite full‑time work with a standard 40‑hour week or a condensed schedule.
