Privacy Operations Specialist

This is a 12-month, full-time (40 hours/week), remote contract role located in Seattle, Washington. Candidates must live within 100 miles of Seattle.SummaryWe are seeking a Privacy Operations Specialist to support a fast-paced privacy program focused on delivering exceptional privacy experiences for users. This role partners closely with marketing, legal, engineering, and operations teams to manage privacy-related requests, support incident response processes, and continuously improve operational workflows. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about privacy, with the ability to navigate complex environments and drive process improvements.Our Ideal Candidate5+ years of experience in program or project management, preferably in privacy, marketing, or data governancePassion for privacy and a strong foundation in privacy principles, data governance, and operational workflowsProficient in workflow management tools and collaboration platforms, with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsFamiliar with privacy frameworks and regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, DMA, or similar standardsSkilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams including legal, engineering, product, marketing, and operationsAble to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentFlexible and adaptable to changing priorities, timelines, and stakeholdersStrong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detailExperience supporting incident response or emergency management processes and working with global teamsJob DescriptionIn this role, you will manage and execute the end-to-end privacy review process for data use requests. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams including legal, engineering, product, and marketing stakeholders to ensure requests are properly evaluated, prioritized, and processed in a timely and compliant manner.This includes monitoring incoming requests, validating intake requirements, aligning priorities with business needs, and communicating timelines and updates to stakeholders. You will also support emergency response processes related to domestic and international privacy incidents, coordinating with global teams and demonstrating strong judgment in high-pressure situations.You will also contribute to ongoing improvements to operational workflows by identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency. Additionally, you will support the development of internal privacy communications, documentation, training materials, and program updates to help promote privacy awareness and best practices across the organization.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in business, communications, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceBackground in privacy operations, marketing operations, project management, data governance, or related disciplinesPreferred certifications such as CIPP or other privacy credentialsAdditional RequirementsThis opportunity is located in Seattle, Washington and is a remote role for candidates living within 100 miles of SeattleThe pay for this W-2 position is $71.71 per hourThis position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.Mathys+Potestio values applicants of all backgrounds and experiences.
