Civil Engineer will provide technical expertise in the planning, design, permitting, and execution of civil sitework and land development projects in a design-build environment.\n\nThe position will work closely with project managers, estimators, field personnel, clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies to develop efficient, constructible, and cost-effective solutions for grading, utilities, drainage, stormwater management, and overall site development.\n\nThe position will be based in *Enterprise, Alabama*, with travel to project sites throughout *Alabama and the Florida Panhandle*.\n\nKey ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Design\n\n* Prepare conceptual and detailed civil engineering designs for residential subdivisions and other land development projects.\n* Develop grading, erosion control, utility, drainage, and roadway plans.\n* Produce design drawings, exhibits, technical reports, and engineering documentation.\n* Perform engineering calculations including earthwork quantities, drainage capacity, pipe sizing, and stormwater detention/retention modeling.\n* Review geotechnical reports and incorporate recommendations into design solutions.\n* Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and industry standards.\n* Manage the entitlement process from initial concept through approved plat.\n\nPre-Construction Support\n\n* Assist estimators with quantity takeoffs, constructability reviews, and bid preparation.\n* Develop value-engineering alternatives to improve project cost, efficiency, and constructibility.\n* Prepare feasibility studies, conceptual designs, and preliminary grading plans for new projects.\n* Participate in client meetings to establish project goals, scope, and technical requirements.\n\nPermitting & Regulatory Coordination\n\n* Prepare and submit grading, stormwater, erosion control, utility, and other required permit applications.\n* Coordinate with municipalities, regulatory agencies, consultants, engineers, and reviewers to address comments and obtain approvals.\n* Maintain accurate documentation to ensure compliance with stormwater, environmental, and land development regulations.\n\nConstruction Support\n\n* Work closely with project managers and field personnel to ensure design intent is properly executed.\n* Provide design clarifications, layout information, and technical support during construction.\n* Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals.\n* Perform job-site visits throughout Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.\n* Verify grades and utility alignments and help troubleshoot field conditions and construction issues.\n\nQuality Assurance & Documentation\n\n* Maintain accurate engineering records, calculations, drawings, and revisions.\n* Assist with as-built drawings, certifications, and project closeout packages.\n* Ensure all engineering deliverables meet company quality standards and professional engineering expectations.\n\nQualifications\n\n* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.\n* Experience in civil site design, land development, or sitework is preferred.\n* Experience with *residential subdivision design and development is strongly preferred*.\n* Strong understanding of grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility design, and construction sequencing.\n* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, plans, and survey data.\n* Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.\n* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.\n* Willingness and ability to travel to project sites throughout Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n* Professional Engineer (*PE*) license preferred.\n* Proficiency with *AutoCAD Civil 3D* preferred, including grading, alignments, surfaces, and pipe networks.\n* Experience working in a design-build, sitework, or heavy civil construction environment.\n* Experience with residential subdivision development.\n* Experience with stormwater modeling software, Trimble Business Center, or similar engineering software.\n* Knowledge of Alabama and/or Florida permitting processes and land development regulations.\n* Field experience supporting construction operations.\n* Experience
