Weekend Sports Anchor/MMJ

KATU News is looking for an experienced Weekend Sports Anchor/MMJ. Qualified candidates must share our vision of producing and reporting on all platforms that stands out as being informative and entertaining for fans and non-fans alike. To be considered for this position, you must have a passion for going beyond scores and highlights and telling real stories. Strong writing, photography, and nonlinear editing skills are a must. The ideal candidate will also understand the importance of how sports reporting is changing in the digital landscape and will bring new ideas to how we cover sports. Demonstrated knowledge of how to position great content on air and on digital platforms is required. You must work well independently and as part of a team in a high-energy, creative, and collaborative environment.Requirements:Strong shooting, writing & video editing abilityAt least 2 years of on-air experienceBachelor's degree in journalism or related subject preferredUse social media to build a dedicated audienceA demonstrated ability to separate from the pack and find original approaches to storytellingSkills:Photography/Video editing in Avid (for broadcast and digital)Live-U operationHigh-level organizational skillsThe ability to tell an NPPA style storyExcellent technical skillsStrong reporting and anchoring skillsThe ability to work well independentlyMust have and maintain a valid license and a good driving recordSinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
