Make an impact by delivering solutions that improve citizen services millions depends on.\n\nJob Description\n\nGDIT has a position opening for a Technical Architect to provide technical leadership and support in the areas of IT planning, solution specification/design, and target architecture development. The well qualified candidate will have a strong knowledge of information technology and commercial solutions; and significant experience architecting and developing technical solutions. The preferred candidate will have excellent communications skills, a strong customer service orientation, and experience serving as an advisor to federal CIOs and senior IT managers.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\nParticipating as a member of the Enterprise Architecture Working Group (EAWG) and working with the GDIT enterprise architecture team to develop target architectures and evaluate IT investment requests.\nWorking with the customer CIO and GDIT project staff to facilitate IT strategic planning\nResponding to technical questions and research requests from the customer CIO.\nPerforming solution scans and designing and estimating the cost of technical solutions that satisfy the requirements of IT investment requests.\nPreparing solution packages documenting recommended technical solutions and estimated costs and benefits.\nAdvising/driving an application modernization initiative\nFacilitating staff in conducting “Fit-Gap” evaluations of proposed COTS solutions\nProviding advice and support for systems development and engineering projects\nCoordinating “reachback” with technical subject matter experts (SME) within GDIT to obtain specific knowledge or expertise to address technical issues\nPreparing deliverable reports and briefings\n\nQualifications:\n\nMandatory\n\nBA/BS and 15 years of relevant experience\nStrong knowledge of information technology, including all layers of the IT stack\nStrong knowledge of commercial products/solutions, especially COTS software application products (e.g., ServiceNow, CRM, ECM, BPM, etc.)\nStrong knowledge of infrastructure technologies and solutions including Cloud\nSolution architecture experience\nSuccessful systems development experience involving COTS integration\nExperience developing lifecycle cost estimates for technical solutions\nStrong communication, presentation and facilitation skills\nCustomer service orientation\n\nDesirable\n\nMA/MS in Computer Science or Engineering\nExperience architecting and/or leading application modernization initiatives\nExperience leading Cloud migration initiatives\nUnderstanding of federal enterprise architecture concepts\nFederal IT capital planning knowledge and experience\nBusiness analysis skills\nWork Requirements\nYears of Experience\n\n15 + years of related experience\n\n* may vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree\n\nCertification\n\nTravel Required\n\nLess than 10%\n\nCitizenship\n\nU.S. Citizenship Required\n\nSalary and Benefit Information\n\nThe likely salary range for this position is $187,179 - $189,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
