Job Description Carpenters work primarily independently and can utilize critical thinking skills to troubleshoot projects. Carpenters are in charge of the project when the project manager is not on site but will report any questions or concerns right away to the Project Manager. They perform tasks involving mental attention to detail and physical labor for residential and commercial projects. They operate a variety of hand and power tools. They clean and prepare sites, dig holes, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials.
