This role ensures accurate inventory levels, effective material flow, optimized storage practices, and alignment with production schedules. The manager will lead the inventory control team, demonstrate safe work practices, implement best-in-class processes and drive continuous improvements to support operational efficiency, cost reduction and service reliability.\n\nHow You Will Help\n\nInventory Management & Accuracy:\nOversee all inventory operations including receiving, shipping, material handling, storage, cycle counting and reconciliation.\nMaintain accurate inventory records within the ERP/MRP system.\nAnalyze inventory discrepancies to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.\nDevelop and monitor KPIs related to inventory accuracy, turns and shrinkage.\nEnsure appropriate inventory levels are stocked at work cells for continuous production flow.\nProcess & Systems Management:\nLead the execution and improvement of inventory control procedures aligned with ISO, OSHA and internal audit standards.\nPartner with procurement, production and engineering to optimize material flow and material storage.\nDevelop, implement and refine inventory policies for stocking, replenishment, min/max settings and safety stock.\nSupport ERP/MRP system enhancements, data integrity, and user training.\nMaintain system accuracy by ensuring timely and correct inventory transactions.\nLeadership & Team Development:\nSupervise, train, and evaluate inventory control staff, material handlers and cycle count personnel.\nEstablish a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement.\nLead cross-functional teams to resolve inventory and material flow issues impacting production.\nContinuous Improvement:\nUse Lean tools such as 5S, root cause analysis, and value-stream mapping to reduce waste and improve efficiency.\nDrive initiatives to reduce carrying costs, enhance material visibility and improve warehouse organization.\nParticipate in plant-wide CI projects and support operational efficiency goals.\nCoordinate with corporate logistics team to utilize most cost effective means for freight movement.\nCompliance & Safety:\nEnsure all inventory and warehouse processes comply with safety regulations and heavy industrial equipment standards.\nMaintain proper documentation for audits, quality inspections and regulatory compliance.\n\nWhat You Will Bring\n\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management or related field; or equivalent experience.\n5+ years of inventory management experience in a heavy industrial, metalworking, chemical, automotive or similar manufacturing environment.\nStrong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Infor, etc.).\nProven experience with cycle counting, physical inventories and inventory accuracy improvement.\nStrong leadership, problem-solving and analytical abilities.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-mix/low-volume or high-volume manufacturing environment.\n\nPreferred:\nAPICS/CPIM certification.\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement programs.\nFamiliarity with operating forklifts, overhead cranes or other heavy material-handling equipment.\n\nAbout ASC Engineered Solutions\nFollowing the 2019 merger of Anvil International and Smith-Cooper International, the unified company relaunched in March 2021 as ASC Engineered Solutions.
