But turning an idea into a physical product still means finding engineers, designers, coders and suppliers. We believe creating products should not be limited to people with technical skills.\n\nMakeable is building a platform that helps everyday people turn an idea into a usable physical hardware product, without needing an engineering team. We are bringing together 3D design, tested compatible electronics, generated software and clear assembly guidance. Our long-term vision is for people to make, share and eventually sell products created from their own ideas and experiences.\n\nWe have raised a $1M pre-seed round from Afore Capital.\n\nThe Challenge\n\nAI can generate impressive 3D shapes, but those shapes aren't necessarily ready to manufacture.\n\nA generated enclosure might look perfect but have incorrect internal dimensions, insufficient space for electronics, missing openings or geometry that cannot be 3D printed.\n\nWe want to solve this programmatically.\n\nWhat You'll Build\n\n* Develop algorithms to analyze, manipulate and refine AI-generated 3D meshes and CAD models.\n* Build geometry post-processing systems that enforce dimensional and manufacturing constraints.\n* Automatically create internal cavities, component mounting points, port cutouts, screw holes and structural features.\n* Detect collisions, invalid geometry, insufficient clearance and other physical design problems.\n* Build procedural and parametric CAD generation workflows.\n* Develop automated geometry validation and mesh repair pipelines.\n* Work closely with our AI engineers to connect generative 3D models with precise, manufacturable geometry.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\n* Current undergraduate or recent bachelor's graduate in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.\n* Strong Python or C++ programming skills.\n* Experience writing software that creates, manipulates or analyzes 3D geometry.\n* Understanding of mesh processing, geometric transformations, Boolean operations or parametric CAD.\n* Experience with one or more relevant tools such as Open CASCADE, CadQuery, build123d, Trimesh, Open3D, CGAL or Blender Python.\n* Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to experiment with challenging technical problems.\n\nBonus Points\n\n* Experience building CAD plugins, procedural modelling systems or geometry-processing libraries.\n* Familiarity with 3D printing, mechanical tolerances or electronics enclosure design.\n* Experience in robotics, computer graphics, computational design or generative 3D.\n* Research or open-source contributions involving computational geometry.\n\nWhat Would Impress Us\n\nWe'd love to see a GitHub project or technical demonstration where you've built something that automatically manipulates 3D geometry.\n\nExamples include automatic enclosure generation, mesh repair, geometric constraint checking, CAD scripting, procedural modelling, collision detection or component-fitting algorithms.\n\nWe care far more about what you've built than your university, GPA or previous company names.\n\nWho Should Apply\n\nUndergraduate students, final-year students and recent bachelor's graduates. You do not need a master's degree, PhD, prior full-time experience or prior startup experience. Candidates from Singapore and U.S. universities are especially encouraged to apply.\n\nYou'll work directly with our founding team on core technology that could make creating physical products as easy as writing a prompt. You will collaborate with our generative-design researcher, who joins in January.\n\nTiming and location\n\nPaid, full-time internship starting November 2026 for approximately 12 weeks. Pay is USD 19.61–20.20 per hour, based on 40 hours per week. San Francisco preferred; exceptional remote candidates based in the United States or Singapore considered. Tell us your earliest start date and weekly availability. Any continuation beyond the internship will be discussed separately.\n\nHow to apply\n\nApply through this Indeed listing. State that you are applying for Computational Geometry & CAD Engineering and include your strongest relevant GitHub project or demo, your personal contribution, location, earliest start date and ability to commit for approximately 12 weeks. Existing projects are welcome; no new unpaid project is required to apply.\n\nStarting intern pay: approximately US$3,400/month for US placements; S$3,000/month for Singapore placements. For San Francisco placements, flights, visa costs, accommodation, food and local transport are covered.\n\nHiring contact\n\nQuestions?
